Elmer Darrah was born around 1884 in Chipman, Queen’s County, New Brunswick. He married Rose Budd Branscombe on May 3, 1911 in Vernon, BC.
Mr. and Mrs. Darrah arrived in Princeton from Merritt in November 1911.
He bought a bakery in Princeton from C.V. Semerad in January 1912 and opened the Star Restaurant (and bakery). By September 1912, Darrah had either hired or gone into partnership with John Pascoe and was also providing confectionaries.
He bought property in Coalmont in 1922.
Darrah was the Noble Grand of the International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) #52, Princeton.
