John Angus was born on January 23, 1895 in Scotland. He jumped in the Tulameen River on June 1, 1948 and died of drowning. His body was found at Bromley Rock in late August.
At the time of his death, the rivers were at the height of a flood.
He was a mine skip operator at Copper Mountain at one time. In April 1941, he was appointed caretaker of the gold course for the season. At the time of his death, he had been in ill health for some time.
