Carpenter’s plane. On the metal blade is some writing, that is hard to read – the first line is unreadable, but the second line states A. Monty, Roxton Pond, PQ – stands for Province of Quebec. Roxton Pond enjoyed electrification of its small village, powered by an electrical generator attached to the Grain mill. It powered primarily the lights in the village, but this was installed between 1902 and 1904!! The existing plane business was sold to Arthur Monty in 1895, and then sold to his brother Adelard Monty in 1899, he manufactured planes until his death in 1927.
