He, along with son, James, found the first copper outcroppings at Copper Mountain. James Sr. was a packer for the Hudson’s Bay Co. in fur trading days. He also owned a sawmill at Jameson Creek. The Jameson family moved to Princeton in 1882. Was associated with his friend R.A (Sunset) Brown and they staked and worked the Sunset, Oriol, Jennie Silkman, King Solomon, and other mines on Copper Mountain from 1892 on.l He was half/full blood Cherokee packed for Hudson’s Bay Co. at Chilcotin. Moved here 1893-4 ran a hotel at Granite Creek, later on ranch at Five Mile. He was born in 1828 in Barren County, Kentucky
