David Archibald was born around 1859. He married Adeline Bingman. He died on June 2, 1919 at home at 7 Mile on One Mile Road.
The Archibald family moved from Moses Lake, Washington, to Princeton, BC in 1906. He was an engineer at the cement plant during its construction.
The family pre-empted 160 acres of land fifteen miles from Princeton and they moved onto this new home site with their three children.
Addie taught the Archibald children at home as there was no school at that time. They lived at the south end of Missoula Lake and drove to town with a team of horses.
The last of their children, Donald Archibald, was born at Summers Creek on December 17, 1916.
In February 1919, David Archibald applied to divert “sixty acre feet of water” from Summers Creek.
