Sydney David Atkinson was born on June 14, 1922 in Princeton, BC. He died in Princeton, BC on July 30, 1994 and is buried in the Princeton Cemetery. On August 1, 1943, he married Marjorie Lucille Currie (1920-1973) in Princeton, BC. Marjorie died in 1971. He married Margaret Goldsborough in 1981. Margaret died in 1991.
Syd helped to build the Princeton Museum, he was the straw boss. He worked at the Princeton Dairy pasteurizing plant, delivering milk to Copper Mountain, Allenby, Hedley and Manning Park, as well as house to house around Princeton.
His son Gary won Independent Order of Oddfellows (IOOF) speech contest trip to the United Nations in 1965.
