Frank was born in Scotland in 1889 and began a career as a coal miner at the age of 14. in 1923, he moved to Blakeburn, BC, working for Coalmont Collieries. Frank qualified as a fire boss in 1926. He worked as a fire boss in the Granby Colliery No. 1 Mine. He was part of the rescue team involved in the mine explosion of August 1930, which killed forty-five men. In 1940, The Blackburn Mines closed and the Bond family moved to Princeton, BC. Frank passed away on November 29, 1974.
