Myrtle Isabelle Marcotte was born September 12, 1912 to Louis Napoleon and Edith Myrtle (nee Schisler) Marcotte. Her mother died shortly after her daughter’s birth. She was raised predominately by her Grandmother Schisler and her Aunt Millie (Schisler) Huey. In later years when her father Louis Marcotte had remarried to Mary, she did spend some time with them. At this time Louis owned the Coalmont Hotel. She rode a bicycle everywhere she went and had a chihuahua that rode in the carrier. Myrtle married Fred Parks in Princeton. They had two children, both born in Princeton; Ardis born in 1933 and Lyall born in 1934. The family left Princeton in the early 1940s and moved to Abbotsford. Fred and Myrtle were divorced when the family lived on Vancouver Island. Myrtle died of cancer in Victoria, B.C. April 25, 1976.
