Pelly, Robert Lyle
Betty (Clarke) Pelly
Norma Pelly __Raymond Pelly __Wilf, Jack, Mildred __Clarke, Clifford
He was born April 12, 1926 and was the second of four children. Bob spent his formative years in Chilliwack, prior to joining the Navy in 1944. Following his discharge in 1946, he married Betty Clarke in 1948. They bought the Clement place near Jellico Station in 1948. The flood cut them off from all supplies from Princeton. Soon after they moved to the coast returning in 1952. They bought a ranch from Jack Liddle that was located at the bottom of Baker Hill in the 5-Mile Valley. This place was known as the Rick Dillard place. (See 5 mile file.) They had two sons: Clifford and Clarke. In their later years they led a quieter life, enjoying visits with friends and family. Bob was still able to can 100 quarts of peaches last summer! He was a devoted caregiver to his wife, Betty, for many years. Bob’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was so proud of all their accomplishments and, in turn, they loved their Grandpa (Bump) dearly. In his eyes, they could do no wrong! Passed away August 6, 2020 at Ridgewood Lodge following a short illness.
