(Matea Elizabeth) Gloria Stout was elected to the Princeton town council in November 1978, and elected Mayor in 1983.
She was born in Abbotsford, BC, and completed her education at the University of British Columbia and the University of Washington. She owned a dress shop for six years in Abbotsford.
She was one of three women who founded Princeton Museum in 1958 (incorporated in 1972).
Gloria worked for Elderly Care Housing and was a member of the Princeton Hospital Board for four years. She was also Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.
Gloria and her husband Tom (Thomas Garson Stout) ran the Blue Skye Lodge for many years, which her parents started. Allison Lake was formally called Blue Skye Lake.
