Charles (C.C.) Tilley was born around 1854 in England. He died on October 9, 1918 in Oroville, Washington, USA.
The Similkameen Star reported on January 31, 1912 that Tilley “who has been interested in Princeton district for the past 11 years” took offices over Willarson & Co’s store in the Britton Block. He planned to set up a branch real estate office.
He came to New York as a young man, moved a number of places and settled in Oroville around 1905. The Princeton Star ran a story about his purchase of a large hotel in Princeton, but it was actually the Peerless Hotel in Oroville, BC. He retired as manager at the Peerless in April 1911.
In 1913 and 1914, he managed the Greenwood (B.C.) Fair.
In April 1911, his son Cal Tilley was sellingPrinceton Coal to homes in Oroville, Washington.
