Ceccon, Clarence Bruno “Chico”

Born in Coalmont to Emilio and Mira Maria (Santolin) Ceccon. In 1927, his father emigrated to Canada to seek employment. He was very fortunate to be hired by the Canadian Pacific Railway. This proved to be a lifelong position with the company. In 1930 Emilio returned to Italy to bring his young family to Canada. In 1937 they moved to Kurton, two stations east of Osprey Lake. In 1940 the family moved to Adra, home of the rattlesnakes! Adra is east of Penticton on the Kettle Valley Railroad. The family moved to Penticton in 1942 so the children could attend school. In April of 1944, they moved to Allenby and to Princeton in 1950. He was awarded the boys athletic trophy. They played basketball in high school, was the high scorer for the home town with 10 points at a game. Was very active in sports over the years. He had a broad jump of 20 feet 7 inches, 15 inches better than the last record. He has been very active in sports over the years, playing hockey, baseball and basketball. He died.
