Elizabeth Margaret (Davidson) Collen (Margaret)
James Earl (Earl) Collen was born in Whitewater, MB on June 8, 1904. He was educated in Tilliston, MB. He married Margaret Davidson in Grand Forks on June 22, 1933. He died on June 4, 1985 in Princeton, BC. His funeral was officiated by Reverend N. Radway and he is buried in the Princeton Cemetery. Survived by daughter, Bernice Kenbrink (Vancouver), sons Robert (Barrier) and Darrell ( Revelstoke), Sister Margaret Speer (Victoria). He was the brother of Gerald George Collen (1911-1979).
Earl Collen moved to BC in the late 1920s. He lived in the Cascade area of the province until 1935. They moved to Hedley where he operated a department store (located where the Golden Nickel Restaurant is located more currently). Opened a Princeton store in 1949 and moved to Princeton in 1953.
