Knighton, William H. “Bill”
William (Bill) Knighton was born in 1939 to Harry Reginald and Betty (nee Wiilliams) Knighton. Harry and Bill were on a baseball team, the team piled 68 victories and nine defeats in a three-year stretch. For some time Harry was the manager of the Princeton Royals Baseball Team sponsored by the Princeton Brewery Company while Bill was bat boy. William left Princeton in 1954 to go to Mt. Vernon, Washington. He graduated from high school in 1956 and went on to Skagit Valley College and then to Trades School for welding and worked in the refineries. Bill joined the National Guard and after finishing active duty, married Janet Worthen from Sedro Wolley. They had two daughters: Cynthia and Christie and made their home in Puyallup. Bill and Janet divorced in 1986. Bill married again in 1990 to Barbara McKenna of Tacoma who had a son and a daughter. Bill worked in construction for 32 years and planned to retire in 2002.
