Born October 4, 1890 Chicago III see File and died January 10, 1981 in the Langley Hosp. He arrived in Princeton area as a boy in 1906 with the C.P.R survey party. (Kettle Valley) S.S. October 24, 1950 – added another cabin to his old cave cottage cabins. Aatt. St. james school for boys, Vancouver.
Left Princeton to become purser on Empress boats, Empress of China, Japan, Russia. Joined British Navy, Greenwich Naval College, Eng. Captain armed trawler from Hull to Iceland to Russia (HMS Evergreen sunk by Geramn U-boat. He stayed in England until 1921. During WWII he was a training officer in E. Canada, decorated many times, mentioned in dispatches. He earned honourary membership in the officers’ assn. of Canada. Honourably discharged 1945

“Sam ” Langford appears to have been a significant donor to the Princeton Museum, that is why I am researching him.
