Agnes Campbell was born in Ayr, Scotland in 1875. Her family came to Ontario from Scotland when Agnes was a small child. She married John Alvin Long in 1900. He was born in 1872 of Irish
immigrants in Madoc, Hastings County, Ontario. The family homesteaded in Roland, MB before moving to various places in Canada. They had seven children. Bert and Harry born in Mahoc, ON, Anna Bell, born in Roland in 1905, Frank and Mollie, born in Lake of the Woods, Jack, born in Vancouver 1912, and Art, born in Flood near Hope in 1917. 1920 saw the family lease the Luke Gibson Ranch seven miles north of Princeton at Jura. In the fall Agnes died with Art only four years old.
