Stage Driver Dies’ : Between Princeton and Merritt – Ref: Similkameen Spotlight October 24, 1950 Dan Munro died at the age of 85. He came to B.C. in 1891 and settled in the Nicola Valley. Worked for W. Pooley and N/V. Cattle Co. He took up ranching at the Portland Ranch near Aspen Grove. Later leased the Tipperary Ranch at Lower Nicola for a time.// He became known to travellers in later years when he entered the garage business till 1946 (age caused him to sell out) During his 59 years in the Valley, he ranched, ran a horse stage, saw the passing of the horse, coming of the railway. He is credited with driving the first team in harness over the new road between Princeton and Granite Creek years ago.
