Adderley, Robert “Bob”
Jessie Dinnie (Lindsay) Adderley
Robert Adderley was born on August 31, 1913 in Nanaimo, BC. He married Jessie Dinnie Lindsay on July 11, 1942 in Vancouver, BC. At the time of their marriage, Robert was working in banking; Jessie was a stenographer. Both were living in Vancouver. He died on September 13, 1998 in Vancouver, BC.
The Similkameen Star (July 23, 1942) noted that both were well known in Princeton as the Lindsay family had been resident in both Princeton and Copper Mountain “for many years.”
Adderley worked at the Bank of Commerce in Princeton from around 1936 to 1942 when he transferred to the Ladner branch.
While in Princeton, he was active in tennis and was on the board of governors of the Riverside Tennis Club (1938). He was also named captain of the Princeton Badminton Club (1938) (1940).
He donated 1.00 to the Princeton Branch of the Canadian Red Cross Society in October 1940.
He was a WWII Veteran and a member of the Honour Roll of Amber Ski Club – Senior Members serving King and Country.
