Gertrude (Gladish) Bottaro was known as Deane Bottaro. Deane Gladish was born in Pearl (Bridgeport), Washington, USA on November 10, 1912. She was a student at Allenby School (1920). She married Jack Bottaro on February 11, 1935 in Penticton, BC. They were both living in Hedley, BC at the time of their marriage. She died on January 14, 1978 in Kaleden, BC and is buried in the Princeton Cemetery.
The Carl Gladish family came to Princeton in 1919. They were living at Five Mile in November of 1925 when their home was lost to fire. They owned the Burley Bottoms(?) Dairy Farm in 1927.
Jack and Deane Bottaro lived in Princeton from 1947 – 1952.
Deane was survived by her 7 children, Ava & Wendy (Victoria, 1981), Dianne Huey (Princeton), Merle Bottaro (Burnaby), Ava Lovatt (Princeton), Carl Bottaro (Labrador City, Newfoundland), Ann Zatkovich (Kamloops 1981) and Jack Bottaro (Hedley), her 5 sisters and 6 brothers.
