George Broderick was born in Honeywood, ON, on February 14, 1863. In 1876, his family moved to Parry Sound. They lived at Ahmic Lake until 1891 then George moved with a colony of sixty-three families to Edmonton, AB.He married Sylvia Ann Johnston of Ahmic Lake, ON, in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, on Nov. 19, 1892.
In 1896, they moved to Red Deer, AB. By 1902 they had come to Creston, BC, and stayed for 16 years. In 1918, they moved to Penticton. And from 1920 – 1923, they were ranching at Jura. George and Sylvia had three sons and one daughter.
Ever since coming to B.C. he was active in the logging industry. He was a member of Orange Lodge (he joined Spence, Parry Sound Ontario in 1889 (transferred and joined Princeton in 1920).
He died on April 11, 1956 in Penticton General Hospital.
