Alexander Derward Broomfield, Sr., was born in Cambridge, ON, on February 8th, 1879. He was the son of Thomas Broomfield and Eliza (Eddy) Broomfield. He married Mrs. T. Bromberg in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Sept. 29, 1913. He married Nellie Jane Brady. According to the 1946 Directory, he was retired and living in Hedley, BC. He died June 5, 1960 in Princeton, BC. His death registration notes his occupation as hotel proprietor/freighter/livery.

Alexander Broomfield was the manager Yuni man Gold Fields Ltd. (not far from Nickel Plate) on August 9, 1945. This was consolidated in 1935 worked some years. All work stopped at Second World War.
