This is a photograph of Mr. Cook on horseback in front of his pioneer store. A caption with the photograph reads Foxcrowle P. Cook trudged into Granite Creek lugging his pack early in the goldrush. There were lots of things the boys could do with but he figured bread was a priority started a bakery in time had stores at Granite Coalmont and Princeton… and the up-river Dead Horse where debts could be worked out… and many other skills and accomplishments.. Last store sold in 60s
