“First Plane in Princeton” The Curtiss JN4 biplane piloted by Lt. Ernest Hall with Lt. Dudley Smith, flew from Vancouver to Chilliwack and then to Princeton. The flight through the Coquihalla Pass was very difficult due to the influence of the mountains. They landed on the main street of Princeton (Vermilion?) and parked at the school, severing a telegraph wire in the process. They continued the next day to Penticton and gave an aerobatics display for the Dominion Day celebrations there. See Vancouver Province newspaper, July 12, 1919 edition. There is no mention of this occurrence in the Princeton newspapers, despite lengthy coverage of the Penticton event.
