Oriel Allen was born February 3, 1921, the daughter of George Calvin Allen and Oriel Zeba (Meausette) Allen. She married Charles Miller Whiten, a journalist and editor, on June 28, 1941 in Princeton, BC. They later divorced and she married Paul Meredith Cook on June 29, 1946 in Vancouver, BC. She married again (Neil Salmon). She died on October 27, 1993.
