Kelly, Mary (Corsi)
Frank Cornelius Kelly (1909-1991)
Daughter: Judy
Mary Corsi was born at “Motherlode” near Greenwood, BC, in 1914. She was the daughter of Alexander Corsi and Palmira (Helrighel) Corsi. She married Frank Cornelius Kelly in Vancouver, BC, on April 23, 1938. At the time of their marriage, Frank was working as a mechanic and living in Vancouver; Mary was working as a house-keeper and also living in Vancouver.
She was a member of the “Mountain Maids” – an inaugural “feminine hockey” team at Copper Mountain in 1929. They competed with the Allenby and the Princeton Star wondered why Princeton didn’t have a girls’ hockey team.
She was living in Princeton in September 1932 and working at the Princeton Hospital in November 1932. She regularly went home to Copper Mountain to spend the weekend with her family.
She attended a carnival at the Princeton skating rink in January 1933 and won, dressed as a tramp, best costume in the “Men – Comic Character” category.
When her brother, Alex Corsi, was married in November 1941, the wedding was held in the Kelly home in Princeton.
Frank Kelly worked at Brett’s Garage (1942).
