Elie Alexandre was born in Havre, France on July 18, 1885. He married Charlotte Lambin and together they had four children: Victoria, Marie, George, and Charles. After Charlotte died in 1929, Elie married Kathryn Fenton/Henderson. They were married at the Manse at the Presbyterian Church in Penticton, BC, on June 20, 1931. He died (obituary) in the Princeton General Hospital on August 23, 1946.
Alexandre lived at Jura for 17 years and was a Canadian Pacific Railways section foreman for 24 years. The family moved with his work: Victoria Alexandre was born at Jura; George was born at Creston; and Charles was born at Bridesville.
At the time of Charlotte’s death, he was with the Kettle Valley Railway Company at Allenby. The Alexandre family had been living at Allenby “for some time” in 1929 and the children attended Allenby School in the 1920s.
