Schoehut All Wood Perfection Art Doll
Schoehut wooden doll, all features are carved and painted. Brown hair with pink headband, blue eyes, downward turned mouth. Head turns from side to side. Wooden joints with metal compressed springs in arms and legs. Feet move via wooden ball joints. Feet have 2 holes in them for a stand. Wearing a blue and white gingham dress, with lace, and knitted all in one underwear.
Albert Schoenhut was a third generation wood carver born in Germany, established his toy factory in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1872 to 1935 for making wood toys of which a piano was his first. Albert’s patent was approved on January 17th 1911 for his All Wood Perfection Art Dolls with solid wood heads and molded carved hair or wigged, boy or girl dolls with compressed metal spring joints and two holes in the soles of the feet (as do shoes) that allow the dolls to stand or pose. 1912 Albert Schoenhut passed away and his six sons succeeded him
