Wooden Wall Telephone, has mouthpiece on the front, and the ear piece on the side. Has two bells on the top. Would have connectd the caller to the operator only. Fabric wiring. Made by The Norther Electric & Mfg Co. Ltd. Montreal. Type 283 A. In 1880, The Bell Telephone Company of Canada was formed. The Manufacturing Branch flourished and, in 1895, was incorporated as a separate company, called Northern Electric and Manufacturing Company Limited.
