Alex Adams “Scotty” was born around 1882 in Montrose, Angus, Scotland. He married Vina Lord in Princeton on August 27, 1920. After Vina Adams died in January 1923, he remarried. He married Margaret Fay on November 13, 1925 in Keremeos, BC.
“Scotty” Adams, a Princeton resident, enlisted in World War I.
He was recruited from Vernon, along with seven other recruits, in July 1916 to help with the hay harvest around Princeton. “Scotty” Adams and Charles Hunter were on Dell Young’s ranch.
He was a member of the Princeton Ex-Servicemen’s Association and acted as referee for the boxing matches during the “smoker” at the Princess Theatre on November 10, 1924.
In 1927, he was operating a cigar, cigarettes, tobacco, soft drinks business in Princeton known as the “Scotty” Adams store.
In January 1929, Alex Adams home and store on Bridge Street were destroyed by fire.
