Alfred Allison was born on May 28, 1883 in Princeton. He was the son of John Fall Allison and Susan Louisa Moir. He was baptized on September 2, 1883 at St. John’s Church at Yale, BC. Alfred married Isabelle Martin on August 19, 1906. After she died, he married Florence Edna (Graham) DuHamel (a widow) on August 31, 1927 at One Mile, near Princeton, BC. He died Princeton General Hospital on August 12, 1954 and is buried in the Castle Rock Cemetery (Allison Family Cemetery). His occupation is listed at BC forestry/rancher on his death registration.
In the spring of 1901, he located (along with George Ham, and John and George Allison), mining claims which proved to have a promising find of gold ore on the Lone Star group on Independence Mountain.
Allison enlisted on December 8, 1914 in Victoria, BC. His Attestation Papers for the Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF) list his trade as horse-breaking. At the time of his enlistment, he had scarring from a bullet wound on his left side below his ribs. This was the result of an accident in January 1905.
He was a private in the 2nd Regiment, Canadian Mounted Rifles. He served in France and was awarded the Mons Star, General Service and Victory Medals. During the war, he was severely injured. He was awarded the Mons Star, General Services and Victory Medals.
He returned to Princeton in November 1918 and by 1921, he was building a house at One Mile. He helped search for Nurse Warburton in September 1926.
In 1936, they were still ranching at One Mile. They moved to Clearwater in 1940.
