The Phelps Dodge Corporation of Canada optioned “sixteen claims and fractions comprising this property” from Len and Irvine Ashely in October 1958. These claims were on the old Wheeler property in the vicinity of Friday Creek, on the west side of the Similkameen River, about 10 miles south of Princeton).
