Jack Budd came in 1910. He was the superintendent of Blairmore (AB) Cement Plant. He was appointed manager in early November, he was to supervise the installation of the huge plant. Started an advertising campaign with Mr. John George, with the first money received they bought a hundred acres of the Allison estate on the One Mile Creek.

The picture above is of Jack Budd, the mysterious rancher of Baldy Mountain and friend to Bill Miner, however, he was not the superintendent of the Cement Plant. That honour went to William James Budd, a Calgary industrial builder, who was the constructor of the B.C. Cement Works.
