John Burns’ place was 20 miles from Princeton on a lake called Burns Lake. He sold to Jack Thynne in the early 20’s, whose daughter married a man called Batstone. The property was bought by Mat Anderson from Abbotsford and his wife. They called the place Skye Blue (cattle brand name). The lake was later known as Allison Lake. John Burns was buried on the property, the grave disappeared when the road was built.
Accomplishments:
Bachelor, farmer and trapper.
He owned a team of horses and raised beef cattle, used to drive into Princeton for supplies.
