Born in Traviso, Italy to Emilio and Mira Maria (nee Santolin) Ceccon. In 1927, his father immigrated to Canada to seek employment. He was very fortunate to be hired by the Canadian Pacific Railway. This proved to be a lifelong position with the company. In 1930 Emilio returned to Italy to bring his young family to Canada. They were living in Coalmont in 1934. In 1937 they moved to Kurton, two stations east of Osprey Lake. In 1940 the family moved to Adra, home of the rattlesnakes! Adra is east of Penticton on the Kettle Valley Railroad. The family moved to Penticton in 1942 so the children could attend school. In April of 1944, they moved to Allenby. Rolando attended College in Edmonton for diesel engineering. He returned to Princeton and started his own trucking business. In 1957 Rolando married Blanche Wagman and they had two children, Allan and Sandra who married Brian Watt.
Owned Ceccon Trucking (Princeton). Had dump trucks, loaders, cement and gravel plant, other heavy equipment. Retired 2013. 1973 Princeton Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year. Also honored by the Lions Club.
