Raymond Collishaw was born in Nanaimo on November 22, 1893. He flew Black Flight Sopworth tri-planes in WWI. He was a Flight Lieutenant, later Air Vice-Marshall. He died September 28, 1976 in West Vancouver, BC. Collishaw was one of the great aces of the First World War and an important RAF commander in the North African theatre during the Second World War.
He frequently stayed with Harry Lowe at Tulameen, BC.
