Cornish, Clifford George “Cliff”

Clifford Cornish was born on March 17, 1917 in Vancouver, BC. He was the son of Charles Cornish and Kathleen (Pelling) Cornish. He married Amy Addis on March 25, 1938 in Princeton, BC. At the time of their marriage, Cliff was a foundry worker and living in Princeton. He died on January 24, 1984 in the Burnaby General Hospital.
Cliff Cornish appears in the 1940 and 1941 BC Directories. He was listed as a labourer (1940) and a miner (1941). However, he was living in Princeton at an earlier date, because the he played on the inaugural Princeton Lacrosse team in September 1937. In lacrosse, he was known as “Caveman Cliff Cornish.”
He may have come to Princeton from Burnaby.
