Herb Cornish was born on May 25, 1917 in Vancouver, BC. He married Edith Mary Thomson on July 17, 1945 in Burnaby, BC. At the time of their marriage, Herb was working for Princeton Mines and Edith was a nurse at Kitsilano Private Hospital. He died on August 14, 1966 at home in Vancouver, BC. At the time of his death, he was working as an general insurance agent.
He was seriously injured in a mining accident at the Bromley Vale coal mine (Nine Mile Road) on May 30, 1939. The accident left him permanently disabled.
On June 19th, 1941, the Similkameen Star reported that Herb Cornish was photographed by Gilbert Prideaux (at the hospital where Herb had been since May 1939) applying for a 1941 Victory Loan bond.
In September 1941, he left Princeton for Vancouver for medical treatment. He received further treatment at Princeton General Hospital and was able to return home in December 1942.
He left Princeton around 1950 to live in Vancouver.
