Clement Cornwall was a farmer at Ashcroft (BC), a senator (representing British Columbia in Ottawa during the time when BC joined Confederation), Lieutenant-Governor of BC from 1881 to 1887, and a County Court judge from 1889 to 1906. He died on February 15, 1910 in Victoria, BC.
Cornwall was a Barrister of Inner Temple (B.A. Cambridge). In 1862, he arrived with his brother Henry at Ashcroft. He is humorously remembered for his fox-hunting for coyotes.
