Alexander Corsi was born in Macugnaga, Province of Novara, Italy, in 1884. He married Palmira Helrighel, likely in Italy(?) and the couple immigrated to Canada in 1909. He died at home on July 25, 1932 at Copper Mountain, BC. He is buried in the Princeton Cemetery.
Five of their seven children were born in Greenwood, or on “The Motherlode” claim near Greenwood. Tuffy and Etta were born at Copper Mountain. So the Corsi family must have come to the Similkameen sometime after 1916 but before 1922. They lived in Allenby and then moved to Copper Mountain.
The Princeton Star reported on June 25, 1925, that Corsi had moved up from Allenby to Copper Mountain and would “fill the requirements of the camp in the dairy line.” The property they moved to was Wolf Creek Ranch, later to become Wolf Creek Dairy. He also worked at Copper Mountain Mine and died of miner’s consumption.
He had a 4-year-old purebred Jersey bull for sale 1928 (address: Copper Mountain).
He caught 125 fish in a single day at Smelter Lake in 1928 and gave away most of his catch.
Corsi prepared the skating rink at Copper Mountain in December 1928 and was commended for the quality of his ice-making in January 1929.
