John Corsi was born in Greenwood, BC, in 1912. He was the son of Alexander Corsi and Palmira (Helrighel) Corsi. He married Gilda Mary Bonora in Vancouver, BC, on May 27, 1940. At the time of their marriage, John was a truck driver living at Copper Mountain. He died in Nanaimo Hospital on September 11, 1997. At the time of his death, he was living in Lantzville, BC, having moved there after the death of his wife in 1994.
Corsi was on the Copper Mountain junior hockey team, in 1929. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He started to build a home at Copper Mountain, “located above the hospital on the opposite side of the road” in April 1940.
John and Gilda Corsi were living in Victoria in 1962 and he was working in construction. Ten years later, in 1972, they were living in Merritt and John was working at Craigmont Mines.
He was a World War II veteran.
