Hugh Gordon Currie was born in Castor, Alta in 1917. He was the son of Stanley and Lennah Currie and was one of ten children. He married Ada Ruth Summers in 1942.
He began logging in the Princeton area in 1936. He first logged Manning Siding above Tulameen. He served in the airforce and after returning, he drove truck for the Princeton Brewing Company. In 1955, he went into business with his brother, Don, and his father, Stanley. The business was known as Currie and Sons Logging. He retired on November 1, 1981 when he sold the business to his son-in-law, Dean.
Was on a baseball team, they piled up 68 victories and 9 defeats in 3 years. Was part of the square dancing in the Princeton School Gym.
