Laurie Currie was born in Chilliwack, BC. He worked at Granby Co. and Britannia Mine. He took over the Spotlight from Cam Hooper 1955, November 2 1st issue.
He published Similkameen Spotlight newspaper – took over 1956(?) and sold to Fred Heck in 1981. He was on a baseball team that piled up 68 victories and nine defeats in a three year stretch.
Currie started Princeton Racing Days and was the 1st President in 1964-5. He was elected president of Princeton Racing Days Association in 1979.
He retired Dec. 31 1981. Laurie and Sonja Currie played a large role in the development of Princeton.
