John Gordon DuHamel was born October 14, 1913, in Castor, AB. He married Willy Versluis in Princeton on January 27, 1947. At the time of his marriage, he was living at the Grandview Hotel in Vancouver and working as a tailor.
Sapper J. G. DuHamel was added to the list to receive cigarettes from the Elks Overseas Cigarette Fund in December 1941.
In October 1945, the Similkameen Star reported that: “Jack DuHamel arrived back in Princeton this week after four years and eight months overseas with the R.C.E.[Corps of Royal Engineers]. During his stay overseas he saw service in England, Gibraltar, Tunisia, Algiers, Italy, Greece, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He is now awaiting his discharge.”
