E.E. Emmons was a mining engineer from Vancouver, BC. He visited Granite Creek in October 1909 to look over quartz and placer properties “in the interest of coast capitalists.”
By 1910, he had secured a lot of placer ground in the Tulameen section, which he worked out on the cofferdam principle, of which he was the pioneer in this section.
In 1912, he had a mining lease for Princeton Coal & Land Company.
The Similkameen Star reported on March 27, 1912 (page 1) that Emmons “has placer dredging leases in Princeton district covering ten miles on the Similkameen river, four miles on the Tulameen and a hydraulic lease at the mouth of Friday creek. He has formed a company, The Tulameen Gold-Platinum and Diamond Co., Ltd.” He became the manager of the company which was located at 536 West Hastings, Vancouver.
He also had a placer claim on the Tulameen River at the mouth of Bear Creek, 1914(?)
E.E. Emmons and wife, visited Tulameen from Denny, California, in September 1940. They had left the Princeton area around 1914.
