David Forsyth was born in Fifeshire, Scotland. He was the eldest son of David Forsyth and Ann (Shepherd) Forsyth. He died on December 12, 1916 in Vancouver, a complication of an injury sustained in the coal mine.
At the time of his death, he was living in Blakeburn.
In 1918, he began building a cottage in the upper end of town above the railway station.
He was “an esteemed” member of the Caledonian Club of Blakeburn, a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows in Princeton and a life member of the St. Clair Masonic Lodge (Scotland).
