Gordon Freding was born on April 6, 1913 in Princeton, BC. He was the son of Hans Freding and Astrid (Peterson) Freding of Princeton, BC. He married Evelyn Erna McIntyre (Chilliwack, BC) on July 29, 1944 in Burnaby, BC. He then married Mina Hornstein (1924-2002). He died in Vancouver, BC, on March 30, 1996. Occupation: truck repair mechanic.
On November 21, 1936, there was an alteration at a One Mile Dance and Gordon Freding suffered a fractured skull. Angelo Caruso was charged committing assault causing grievous bodily harm and fined $50.00.
Gordon Freding enlisted as a Private in the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps (RCOC) in January 1943. At the time of his marriage in July 1944, he was serving in the He served in the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers (RCEME-PC). In October of that year, he was with the Canadian Army Motor Transport.
