Freeman, William George “W.G.”
Mary Frances Anne (Hughes) Freeman
William Freeman was born in Cornwall, England (likely Falmouth) on March 9, 1894. He was the son of John Albert “J.A.” Freeman and Florence Lee (Collinson) Freeman and grandson of W.G. Freeman (of the firm John Freeman Sons & Co., granite merchants). He died on January 23, 1984 in Delta, BC.
He worked at the Princeton Coal Mine in 1915.
He served with the 72nd Seaforth (Canadian) as a Private (1917) and was a subscriber to the Victory Loan program in 1918. When he returned from the war, he spent time at the Qualicum military hospital before returning to Princeton in April 1919.
