William John; Marilyn Dominika; Robert George
John Gabriel was born in Austria on September 28, 1906. He met Doris Taschuk in Vancouver. He died on August 8, 1998 in Princeton(?).
He came to Princeton in 1937 and he worked in “Gray’s Bakery” owned by Ernie Gray.
He married Doris Taschuk, who had been living with the Gray family, on March 30, 1939.
Both John and Doris were members of the Princeton Fish and Game Club and the Marksmen Rod and Gun Club.
After they bought “Gray’s Bakery” (1932? – 1962) from Ernie Gray in June 1947, they ran the bakery as the “Home Bakery” until June 1962 when John Gabriel retired. (Side note: Princeton had a “Home Bakery” from 1917-1921?, operated by Mrs. C. Griffin). Their son, William (Bill) Gabriel took the Gabriel family bakery over in 1962.
