Gallinger, Alexander
Alexander was one of the developers of the Cousin Jack Mine at Boulder Creek in the early 1900s.
In 1901, he was living in Aspen Grove.
He also had a mining claim at Elliot Creek which joined at the Oshkosh mining claim on the northeast. He located the claim on August 7, 1901.
He was from Oshkosh, Wisconsin (WI). He returned there in late August, 1901, to promote a company to acquire claims he had under bond on Boulder Creek and in the Aspen Grove district.
When he returned from Oshkosk, WI, in April 1902, he mostly concentrated his efforts on the Cousin Jack group (lead, gold) on Boulder Creek. This group belonged to the Boulder Mining Co. Ltd., in which he was a heavy shareholder. He also intended to do considerable development work on the Mont Maria at Aspen Grove.
He was the manager of the Cousin Jack in 1903. His partner, was T.A. Rodgers of Mountain View, California.
On June 18, 1904, the Similkameen Star reported that the Cousin Jack one of the richest gold propositions in the Similkameen and on July 22, 1905, that the Cousin Jack Mine was ready to ship when there is transportation. That transportation arrived in 1905 and by August, the mine was one mile from the from the railway line.
He returned for the 1906 mining season without his partner, T.A. Rodgers, because Rodgers had lost his large store in the 1906 earthquake in San Francisco.
He held Free Miner’s Certificate B72141 (1904).
