Ann Gaustin founded and published the Valley Spotlight, which later became the Similkameen Spotlight. The first Princeton issue was published on September 1, 1948.
The paper was published in Summerland until William Cameron (Cam) Hooper took ownership (editor, 1949-1955) and established a printing plant in the old Princeton morgue.
She was the first president of the Princeton Business and Professional Women’s Club.
She was a resident of Hedley in November 1941. She opened Ann’s Shoppe in Hedley in 1948.
